Cancun is a very Americanized mainstream resort area. Looks a lot like Miami beach. I don't really think there are any significant "do's and don'ts" to worry about.
Personally I'd recommend not staying in Cancun but continuing on down an hours more south to the Playa del Carmen area.
I totally agree with the above. Been going to the Riviera Maya for 8 years - never been to Cancun. Towns like Playa del Carmen, Akumal and Tulum are very beautiful, safe and affordable. Go to locogringo.com for tons of info.
Hmmmm why is a travel consolidator asking travel questions?
It's an odd first post that's for sure. Travel consolidator? Might be.
