I'm planning early since I didn't get in to some of the lodges I wanted when I planned only six months in advance for Christmas time 2012. In 2014 mid January we'll fly into Liberia and taxi directly to Playa Hermosa for a 4 night stay (we'll arrive in the evening). We hope to arrange a day trip to Santa Rosa NP for birding.

At the end of our beach stay, we'll have a car delivered and drive to Bijagua de Upala and stay at Sueno Celeste B & B for 3 nights.. Then stay in southernmost Nicoya at Ylang Ylang for 4 nights. Have not yet decided to turn in car at Tamarindo, then homeward or keep car and drive back toward SJ, stopping around San Ramon or driving straight to Heredia for a splurge 2 nights at end of trip.

Questions
1) we want to do a boat/float trip or mild raft trip for wildlife viewing, is this best at
Tempesque River (how to drive there?), Penas Blancas, Corobici.? My maps do not clearing show road connections in this area to/from where we are staying in Bilagua de Upala.

2. Are all the above no more than an hour drive from our lodging at Sueno Celeste?
