Need info on Belize
I'm going to Belize for the first time the end of Jan, 2000. Will be there 9 days and would like to stay at two different hotels. Which hotel should we book on Ambergris Caye? Then maybe a place in the Rain Forest? Any info would be appreciated. Sharon

Hi Sharon, try this web site
http://www.bze.net/cgi-local/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro
This in my opinion is the best web site that there is on Belize.
Sharon,
We will be in Belize for just one day the first week of February - as one of our cruise ports - I'd love any information on things you did that were really pretty, fun, etc. Maybe we'll have a shore excursion that will match up with what you suggest. Thanks and have a great time.

Sharon,

I would stay on Caye Caulker instead of Ambergris. Ambergris is SO commercialized-Caulker was so much better. I'd recommend the place we stayed-The Iguana Reef Inn. www.iguanareefinn.com

I'd recommend the place we stayed-The Iguana Reef Inn. www.iguanareefinn.com. We flew there from Belize City, stayed 5 days, then went to Maruba Spa Resort in the jungle. Try an adventure package there-you won't regret it.

You you would like an exceptional place try to get to Chan Chich Lodge in the middle of the jungle. Birds, birds, and more birds, animals, howler monkeys, jaguar, flowers, Mayan ruins, swimming pool, and so much more. Food was just OK but what a place to go. We went there twice and we will return again and again. It's not a cheap place but worthy every dollar.
In San Pedro we stayed in Rock's Inn twice. The second time it was the biggest dissapointment. Dirty and we found broken glass in the shower. Nobody even appologized. We like Mayan Princess and we will stay there next time.If you need more details just let me know.
Rbo

By Caribbean standards, Ambergris is definitely NOT commercialized. In fact it is down right laid back and friendly.

Try the Banana Beach Resort for immaculate one bedroom suites priced the same as a hotel room. Nice pool and on the best beach in Ambergris. The e-mail address is for quote is [email protected] It is one year old and modern set in a Spanish style complex. Write me if you have more questions...Jim
