Just a comment that my husband and I spent the weekend in Jaco last weekend. We had had mixed experiences with md-range places ie 50-120 dollars per night.
However, we stayed at a lovely little place called "Canciones del Mar" last weekend. It s on the beach, comfortable, nice people, kitchenette, spacious suite, cable tv, pool, hgh tech air conditioning, clean and just overall a great price, a great place and a good experience. I would highly recomend it for someone looking for a comfortable place in Jaco. The price was 60 dollars per night and I believe it is 90 in the high season.
Best wishes,
Robbie

Robbie, we stayed there a week in Aug for only $50/nite (you are prob correct about high season rates) and it was fantastic! Great location, AC, full kitchen with 2 dbls & fold-out couch. Our kids enjoyed their fave US TV shows (Friends, etc.) in dubbed Spanish! All within walking distance of downtown, this is one of the better deals for staying in Jaco. Thanks
Robbie, one more thing I remember our maid each day crafted the towels into a sculpture like a bird or duck or something and left them on the bed, she was very skillful and I complemented her on her "arte" and of course left a nice tip. I have never seen this anywhere else.
