Nature Air flights to Granada cancelled

I am scheduled to fly from San Jose to Granada this Thursday and just learned from my reservationist at Morgan's Rock that Nature Air has just cancelled this service! We are trying to reorganize transfer through Liberia. Just wanted to let everyone know as this info is not yet on Nature Air's website.

Interesting. I wonder why? Probably not enough bookings to make it profitable????

Yes, that was what Nature Air told us. They may do this route again in the future.

I hope this does not deter anyone from visiting Morgan's Rock, the most incredible place I have ever been!

Hard to answer your question in a post- read the Trip Advisor reviews on MR and I think you will understand why it is so great! We felt totally safe though time off the resort was always with MR driver and/or tour guide. That being said I think we would have felt totally safe on our own. Many other at MR had been travelling in Nicaragua on their own and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Tico Times did an article on this a couple of weeks ago. The airport in Granada is nothing more than a runway and a shed, but Nature Air, as the only airline flying to Granada, was entirely responsible for its maintenance. The airline had to bring immigration and customs people down from Managua on the three days a week it flew there. It just got to be too expensive. They're apparently looking at other destinations in Nicaragua sometime down the road.
