is almost gone
Far too quickly especially this last week since my wife arrived.
I wish to publicly thank my most congenial host & our Bill Brynes for his help, information & sage advice making this a most excellent stay.
Last night we dined at Mestizos a excellent experience. Started with the salmon appetizer, than a wonderful spinach/fruit/cheese salad & tortilla soup. Then I had the Pork Medallion with Brussels sprouts , bacon, a nice sauce & Rosemary potatoes. Linda had The Pasta Camarones both very good! Linda added 2 glasses of Vino & I a aqua mineral total cost $485 pesos plus tip. About a 1/3 of what such a feast would be in San Francisco.
So Off to Zihuatanejo tomorrow night hoping to soon return.
My month plus in Guanajuato

Stewbear, I live in San Miguel de Allende, only about an hour away from Guanajuato. Can you recommend any other restaurants there?
"Truco 7" salads, onion soup, "La Bohemia" (Chicken soup superb}, "El Galleria" (best huevo rancheros in my life) & my favorite bargain place "Tulum". 3 & 4 course meals for 45 pesos.
Oh! "Mexico Lindo" out on Presa del Ollo near my rental & across the street from the Governor's mansion.. Lovely decor & excellent food at moderate prices
You just need to move here.
Was your wife mesmerized by Guanajuato? I recall this was her 1st time there.
Yes but even more by the Leather market in Leon. Two trips resulting in 4 pair of boots, 1 of shoes, 2 leather coats, a purse, 2 belts & a fanny pack. I believe that's all but I may of missed an item or 6. LOL
Baldone I certainly could be happy here at least 6 months or so a year, but I do not see it happening. At 60 my dear wife is not even thinking of retirement having just received her PHD in Clinical Psychology she has lots of worlds to conquer. So I most likely will continue to enjoy Mexico 3 to 4 months a year, my little camper in California's Trinity Alps about the same & the rest in our home near San Francisco Bay.

Stewbear -- Could be be a whole lot worse!
