Must sees in Dominical and Uvita

We will be renting a home in Dominical area during Christmas. We will have a car. What are the things we should not miss? We are willing to explore and travel to Uvita and maybe beyond, or to Maual Antonio. Looking for wildlife, hiking, river rafting, ziplines.

We have similar plans so I am interested if you get responses from people who have been there. It will be our first trip to Costa Rica.
I found this site and blog - https://mytanfeet.com - to be helpful.
I saw your other post about rental cars. We booked though my tan feet for a 4 X 4 with Adobe.

The Marino Ballena National Park its known for its "whale tail"beach sandbar. If you are renting a car you could also do a day trip to Nauyaca Waterfalls.

From Uvita and Dominical, it is also possible to do day trips to Corcovado National Park - San Pedrillo (hiking) or Cano Island (snorkeling).

You can learn more about the Marino Ballena National Park at:

Note that the beaches in MA are mostly underwater at high tide, so check the tide tables esp for Whale Tail. And don't leave ANYTHING in your car.

I like Hacienda Baru . But you won't want to swim at that beach (crocs).

I think MA is worth the short drive.

There are also some adventure activities you can enjoy near that area like rappelling at Baru waterfalls.
Uvita and Manuel Antonio are also beautiful destinations that you definitely shouldn't miss.

We've been to CR a couple times. This was the best horseback riding an so close to Uvita!
horse back tour starts at 8:00 a.m. and finish around 1:30 or 2:00 p.,m., the
tour cost is $70 dollars per person and includes: Guide, horse, light breakfast, lunch and the admission ticket. Please bring cash.
We recommend to bring: Sunblock, towel, long pants, bathing suit and walking shoes. Check out their website.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
Lunabug.....I checked out my tan feet, good resource. It seems as if you are renting a home in the same area we are. I just wanted to give you a heads up. Be sure to hide all your valuables and electronics when you leave your house. We rented in the same area 2 years ago and our house was robbed. I don’t say this to frighten you,but to warn you. Obviously, we love the area and are returning this year. We will just be wiser with our valuables.

Playa Ventanas is a beautiful, unique beach to visit for part of a day. If you go at low tide, there are caves you can walk through. At high tide, you can watch the waves push in through the caves and get sprayed by the water. Great body surfing beach! There are a lot of shady places to sit on the beach, and usually someone selling Pipa Frias - so refreshing!
