More info on Iberostar (PDC) PLEASE!

I posted a request for my fiancé and I but didn't get any answers specifically for the hotel. I got opinions but not from people that stayed there. We picked this hotel b/c the travel agent said they never heard anything bad about the hotel. So now I am begging for more info on this specific place. I would also like to know the hotspots to visit while there. Thanks for your responses.

We were there in Sept '99 and had a great time. It's a very beautiful lush resort with fantastic landscaping. The staff were wonderful, very accommodating and helpful. And it was a really relaxing vacation.

However I disliked the fact that you could only eat in the two restaurants once per stay. Otherwise it's the buffet for you. I'm not a big fan of buffets so this became tiresome really quickly. The other thing that I disliked was the size of the place. It's quite overwhelming as there are 700 rooms in the hotel. Although they're spread out, I found it too large for my liking.

But there is tons to do. The beach is quite small but the water is fantastic. We're big snorkeling fans so we went every day. You can also go scuba diving, or rent jet skis. They also have daily volleyball games, and aqua aerobics classses. They'll also arrange day trips for you if you're interested:Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xelha, etc. You should definitely go into PDC and spend a couple of hours there. It's a very quaint town. And a trip to Cozumel to Chankanaab Park (great snorkeling) is a must.

Hope this helps you somewhat.

Thanks for your responses. I really am looking foward to the honeymoon. I will definitely be taking some day trips to the ruins. That is our main point of going there. I have seen many in my life but not these and he has seen none.

Astrid - I went to the Iberostar on my honeymoon as well. We returned for our 1st anniversary. the only reason we have not since returned is because we want to explore other destinations some more. We will definitely return - we LOVED this resort and there is not one single bad thing I could think to say about it. The service, beach, pool, entertainment, people, food - all excellent. The buffet restaurants are excellent with tons of options and one night a week there's seafood where we gorged ourselves on lobster and shrimp grilled beautifully. I could answer any questions you might have, feel free to email me - I can't say enough about this destination it is fabulous.
