Mexico Intinerary final touches

Thank you to everyone here that helped me form an itinerary. I'd like your opinions, and I want to pencil in day trips. What do you think? I leave this Saturday.
Sat Arrive Mexico City - explore on foor, maybe 1-3 hours at Museum of Anthropology.
Sun- ruins outside of city
Mon-Thurs Patzcuaro
Mon- no museums! eiother explore on foot, or go out to the Lke for a few hours
Tues- museums and explore.
Wed - Guarajuato
Thurs - open, probably just hang around
Fri & Sat SMA - relax and explore, maybe take a trip to Dolores Hidalgo and a thermal pool.
Sunday - either hang out in SMA at leisure or head back to Mex City early to explore
Mon - depart Mex City.

I miseed the edit key again - pls. excuse typos. I am staying final Sun nt in Mex City. I really had to limit my wish list. Anything you think I should work in? What about Guanajuato -how much time could you spend there? It sounds wonderful.

Also anyone with SMA hotel/B & B recommendations (other than Casa Luna which is booked up) I'd love to hear your own experiences. (yes, Ive been at tripadvisor) Thank you!

I love Guanajuato. Its a wonderful place to stroll around the streets and alleys and just sit in the cafes at the Jardin. The mummy museum is fascinating and Diego Rivera's house is interesting to visit. In Marafil (a 10 minute cab ride) the Gene Byron Musuem is worth a visit. Also check out the Juarez Theater. 2-3 days would be a good amount of time...really depends upon how much you want to just kick back.
Cant help you with places to stay in SMA--have either stayed in rentals there or Casa Luna. Have a great trip -- sounds like fun!

I'm a little confused by your proposed itinerary. Guanajuato and San Migel, about an hour apart with SMA about 4 hours from Mexico City by bus, are a great combination, easy to spend 3-5 days here. Patcuaro is usually combined with Morelia, and is not near the other two you mention on a short visit.

I am guessing that all the time in Patzcuaro may be a 4X3 night special.
We like Hot. Mansion Iturbe; Rest Cha cha cha and Rest Mistonga.
The pueblo is great, but during the day, you must get to the many Pueblos Artisanias surrounding the Lake (Tocauro for masks; Erongaricauro for painted furniture; Sta. Clara del Cobre for copper; Capula for Catrinas and Punticusmo pottery.
In SMdA, I would recommend Casa Calderoni; Casa de la Questa; Casa Schuck and Casa Puesta del Sol.
As a retired diagnostic radiologist, I have less than no interest in mummies -most of the feedback is negative.
Otherwise Gto. is worth a day or two.
M (SMdA, Gto.))

So, in other words, she really plans to stay Monday-Thursday in Patzcuaro, but on Wednesday go to guanajuato for the day? Then Friday-Saturday in SMA before returning to Mexico City on Sunday? Sounds like an awful lot of travel time to me--isn't Patzcuaro at least 4 hours from Gto?

OK first, you guys are the best! thanks for your interest and guidance. I THINK I am booked at Iturbe on the 4x3 - (see below). Ater arriving MEX, Monday Morning take the 4-5 hr bus ride to Patzcuaro, with the Lake and relaxing. Fordor's says from SMA to from Patzcuaro is an hour, so I figured it'd be on my way back to Mex City.
I really wanted to see Guanajauto - did I goof? Again, Fodor's says its an hour from SMA.

Well, looking at the map, GTO/SMA, Mexico City, and Patzcuaro/Morelia seem to be in a triangle, with GTO/SMA the northernmost point, and Patzcuaro to the West of Mexico City. Maybe the distance isn't as far as it looks?

Marilyn1- In Patzcuaro, I was planning on just strolling and relaxing, except for a trip to the Lake, so I don't mind running in other places. I hate to think I have to miss Gto. I never book this last-minute. I am making myself a little crazy, so I think I am done. Except I am trying to get a different B&B for SMA. De Las Flores seems a little high priced for very ordinary.
