mendoza wineries

We are gong to Mendoza in April and wonder if we can do the wine tours by ourselves. We will have a car and would like to either eat lunch and/or spend the night in a winery. I cannot find a complete map of the wineries on the net and it is unclear in a lot of their websites if they are open to the public. The organized wine tours seem overpriced. HELP
