Mazatlan in September

Planning on traveling to Mazatlan in September for the first time and wondered if anyone has stayed at the El Cid Marina and Yacht Club? Also, I haven't been to Mexico since '77 (Cancun) and was wondering if "Montezuma's Revenge" is still such an issue as I remember it being back then.
