Mayan Riviera

Planning on going to the Mayan Riviera for our honeymoon. We are staying at either the Moon Palace or the Spa Palace but are undecided....which one is better?
Also, is there a better place than the Mayan Riviera to honeymoon that we should be considering(in the Carribbean)? Any comments would be helpful.

Thank you!

Our friends stayed at the Moon Palace and while it is a lovely resort, they were extremely disappointed to find that the beach was a disaster because it had SOOOO MUCH seagrass. At times, the staff were usuing a front end loader to clear away the seagrass off the beach. However, the rest of the resort is wonderful and they just stayed at the pool. They were disappointed because you pay a lot to go to the caribbean side of Mexico and they didn't see that beautiful blue clear water. If that doesn't matter to you, then go and enjoy it. I would highly recommend you check resort reviews at the following websites first:

www.cancunandrivieramaya.com

For me, the beach is important and I would not stay at the Moon Palace for this reason alone. You'll have to decide what's important to you.

Joanna,

The Moon Palace is 20 minutes from Cancun, the Spa/Aventura Palace is in the Mayan Riveria, for a honeymoon I highly recommend the Spa/Aventura Palace, but I would stay on the Aventura side, this is adults only, and very popular with honeymooners, take a look at this website which we booked our last trip through, they have some great pictures, and trip reports. The rates are also very good.

Stay at the Adventura, we went in March and it was great especially the jacuzzi in the room, Spa Palace is nice but it feels so healthy and clean, didn't see moon palace but we didn't want the hassle of all the kids and the Adventura had a bus nightly to bring you to Cancun clubs Any questions please e-mail me.

we stayed at the moon palace in september. it was great. while the ocean was not as good as in cancun the pools and the food was much better than the palace resorts that are located in cancun (we went to those as well). we had a jacuzzi in our room which is standard. every few days our fridge was restocked with cokes, water, and beer. i did not see any kids at the moon palce when we were there. it is a definte excellent value for a 5 star hotel. i have been to sandals and moon palace was up there. also, when in mexico take the day trip to xcaret. that place is wonderful. i honestly don't think you will find a better value than mexico/moon palace. sandals cost us twice what moon palace did. just keep in mind it is mexico which is not majestic like the carribbean. it is flat and not tropical like say jamaica, aruba, or st lucia. i hope this helps.
