My Husband & I and our 3 kids (ages 5,7,&8) are looking into a stay at the Dreams Tulum, Dreams Riviera Cancun or the Dreams Puerto Aventuras. Does anyone have any experience with these hotels traveling with young children? Hoping to make our decision today. Also, I've read all the threads about safety, but curious about how people feel about traveling with such young children. I'm a Mom, so I have to worry about it. My husband and I stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya last year and LOVED it, but we were without kids so I wasn't as worried about it. Thanks!
Looking for advice on Dreams Resorts in Riviera Maya area w/ young kids

I can't help regarding the resorts but have some fun ideas for activities in the area from our 2 trips in the last 8 months. The photos, blogs, and travelogues are below. Happy trails!

We stayed at Dreams Riviera Cancun last March - although we didn't have our kids with us. There were many, many families there. I wouldn't hesitate to bring our kids there. It was a very family friendly property. The rooms may be small for a family of 5 though - so you'll have to look into that. They had a shallow pool - not strictly a kid pool - but it was where most younger kids were. Also if I remember two other pools. The beach was very nice. The kids club seemed to be pretty full when we walked by. The restaurants were good - and the families there seemed to be fine with their kids.
I don't think there was anything that would concern me about safety about bringing my kids - anymore than going as a couple. You've been to the area before, so you know what to expect - we were also there a
hmmm...my post cut off? Meant to say,
we were there a year ago and it seemed to be safe enough then. I don't think anything has changed in the resort areas.
I would definitely go back.
If you have any questions on Dreams Riviera Cancun - let me know.
We stayed there two years ago with kids. Great family resort. No worries. Kind staff- I'll never forget our wiater, he looked you in the ye, said, "it is my pleasure to serve you" And you could tell he meant it. Would go back. Beach and pools will work fine for your family. Enjoy.
Have no experience with Dreams Resorts (I've heard good things about them), but just returned from the Riviera Maya. We brought our two girls (13 and 7), and had no concerns regarding safety of the area. The biggest worries I experienced as a mom were things that could occur at any location (avoiding sunburns, avoiding slips or falls on wet pavement by the pool, and keeping an watchful eye on them).
