Lodging Info

Hola,

We are a family of 5 that originally was only going to have 4 of us in CR. We booked a reservation atthe Hotel Arenal Observatory Lodge for 4 people March 29 and 30. We now have a 5th person. (our 2nd oldest son)

Anyway now we are having trouble finding a place to accomodate 5. We are working through Fortuna Welcome on-line. They tell us that the Arenal Observatory Lodge cant accomodate 5 per room.

My round about question is, can we still slide into the Arenal Observatory Lodge with 5? We have no problem throwing down a camping mat or air mattress. Are the hotel management people real sensitive about this?

Thanks for your input!

I would contact them directly at http://www.arenalobservatorylodge.com/EN/contact/ and ask them. They shouldn't have a problem I don't think, plus they have a couple villas that can hold that many.

We just got back from the Obsevatory Lodge and we just loved it. We were also a party of five and stayed at one of their Casona's. It was wonderful as we had a view of the volcano and the lake. The Casona's share bathrooms but it actually worked out great. The bathrooms are large and very nice. You also have a shared room with a table and a nice front porch. It included a great breakfast as well.

We stayed there last year, in a Smithsonian room. It had two double beds, and there was certainly room for a rollaway or air mattress. Only problem would be the single bathroom.

We too stayed at La Casona--it was a great budget saver and a great view as ttraveler mentioned. They actually have a couple of bunk rooms in the casona in addition to 4 private rooms. I'd think one of the bunk rooms would be perfect. We peeked in an empty one and it had at least 5 beds. And, I agree, it was a great stay. NO problem with the shared bathroom. We never had to share it! Very nice and clean. Good luck!
