We are considering Bosque del Cabo (or similar place maybe elsewhere in Central America) for spring break. Our kids will be 15 and 16 (girl and boy). We are wondering how people handle this situation when traveling with a family of four, when it's already expensive to get 2 rooms or a loft. Is it ok for them to share a room at that age? All of our friends seem to have same sex siblings or they are much younger....any input appreciated. Figured I'd ask in this forum b/c we have planned 5 trips to CR using all your advice!

The loft cabin that we stayed in at BdC had a king bed downstairs and then two smaller beds up in the loft. You could have you and hub stay in the king and the kids upstairs, or if that's weird, I know some families where the mom and daughter sleep in the same bed with the boys in the other room. I think it's just up to what works for your family.
How do the teenagers feel about this?
My son and daughter always shared rooms and cabins with us through their teen years. They usually worked out the arrangements. Sometimes my son would sleep on a sofa, sometimes with his dad, or his sister. At different stages the kids wanted different set ups, but we were always together and got along well. They are in their 30s now and are best friends.
We do have a family story where my daughter came to bed late and found her brother asleep hogging the entire bed. She gave him a hard shove and he rolled over on to the floor never waking up.
Do whatever works for your family. It's fine for them to share a room.
all very helpful - thank you!
If we couldn't find a large room with a king + 2 twins, then we just got two queens in one room and son slept with dad, daughter with mom.
Why is this even a question?
