We (2 of us) are flying into Liberia and staying for six nights before leaving. Our flight out is early in the morning so I have booked the Hilton at the airport.
We don't want to rent a car and would like to get around with public transportation or tours.
We get in about noon on the first day. We would like to possibly go to Arenal and stay two nights. We are open to other volcanoes if there is another option that would work better for us.
Then we would like to stay three nights at Playa Hermosa on the beach.
We are middle aged and not interested in roughing it. But we are fine with mid-level hotels. Clean and private bath is the only must. In the states we stay in anything from Comfort Suites to Marriots.
Any advice on getting around and hotels would be very much appreciated.

Hi there! My name is Salvatore, I'm originally from the UK but I now live and work here in Liberia as a professor, at the Universidad de Costa Rica. If this is your first time in CR you're really in for a treat, this place is something else!! If you like, I can help you out with info and prices for tours to Arenal and/or other places ( I know quite a few people in tourism around here), and I also have a little apartment, with pool, 500m from the beach in Playas del Coco (30mins direct bus ride from Liberia) which my friends and family use, and that we sometimes rent out to discerning visitors! I'm on twitter @sjmcoppola or you can email me sjmcoppola@gmail.com if you like, I'd be glad to help

as far as getting around, you should have no problem with public transportation or tours. check with your concierge for tours wherever you end up staying. Best western just out of town is clean and affordable and has a little more character than other places, plus a nice pool.Do not miss restaurante y marisqueria paso real...best place for great eats in town. for more information on coming over to the nicoya peninsula, please get ahold of me through my website.hope this info helps and have a great vacation
