La paz at christmas
Hi can anyone advise us (Me and my husband in our young 50's) are going tp La Paz in late December, we don,t want to stay right in town but close enough to drive or bus in easily, we normally try to keep our budget under 125 USD a night for lodging and like to have at least basic cooking facilities for snacks and drinks, usually a cabana or small condo complex suits , any suggestions would be gratefully received, Also we love to fish, beach fishing or trolling close to shore and prefer to go out with local captains and not the big charter boys, any help there would be great, one last ask, we will be there for dec 12 the feast day of our lady of Guadalupe, would there be processions or special services we could see. thank you for reading my request

Here's where I stayed, it's at the edge of town and in your price range and has kitchens available. Fantastic pool, small restaurant on site.

I only know the Festival for the Virgin of Guadalupe in Puerto Vallarta. It is a huge deal there, very beautiful, and very special to experience. There is something every evening from December 1st thru the 12th.
I'm sorry I don't know about La Paz, but most definitely worth finding out about what they do there to celebrate.

I wish there were more people here to help because my help is limited to one 2-week trip there a number of years ago (I did really like the hotel though!).
I've noticed from past questions there's just not many Fodor's folks with La Paz experience. Too bad, it's a GREAT little city to visit.
Maybe try the Trip Advisor forum? I know the Cabo and PV ones are very helpful.

Check out the Baja Nomads site. It may have helpful tips and they have a forum.
