La Casa Que Canta versus Capella Ixtapa

I'm planning a surprise trip for my partner. We've never been to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. I feel this would be an ideal 5 day destination to unwind - take in the beauty - lounge in the sun - east fresh seafood - and experience a great property. Both properties that I've referenced look fantastic. Has anyone stayed at both and have a preference? I'm leaning towards LCQC, but doubt you could go wrong with either. The nightly rate is not a consideration.

I have not been to either, but have seen LCQC on travel shows. It looks fabulous and would want to stay there!

MichelleY, I'm thinking this is the choice. It looks like a really special place.

mjz - please report back. We get very few, if any reports from this part of
Mexico. It is on our wish list!

We fell in love with LCQC when we saw it on the movie "When a man loves a woman". We haven't stayed been fortunate to stay there, but had the pleasure of going to both Zihua and Ixtapa. Go for LCQC hands down. Zihua is a charming old fishing village. Ixtapa was too touristy, concrete, resorts and shopping. Not charming and reminded us of a US city. If you love off the beaten path, eating like a local, culture and old Mexico...Zihua is for you!

Thanks adventureseeker. We decided on LCQC. Ironically enough, "When A Man Loves A Woman" was my first introduction to LCQC as well.
