Just overnighting in San Salvador have questions

We are overnighting in San Salvador on our way to Belize. We have never been to El Salvador so forgive me if the questions seem silly.

We booked at the Quality Inn 2 miles from the airport with a shuttle for price and convenience (in at 7p out by 8a).

Is this an OK hotel?
Is the area safe enough that we'll be fine riding the shuttle to and from the hotel and overnighting there?
Anything we should know or be concerned about or advised of?
