Trip Report Just back from Akumal and Cancun

Jump to last reply

We had a great time in Mexico. 3 nights in Akumal in a condo on Half Moon Bay (Iguana 15.. very happy with accommodation 2 bed /2 bath) and 5 nights in a villa at the Hilton in Cancun.

We went to Xel-Ha, Isla Mujeres (rented a golf cart and my DD held a shark) and snorkeled in Akumal to see the turtles. Didn't make it to any ruins this time apart from El Rey but we did RELAX!

Food that was noteworthy
Turtle Bay in Akumal .. very good smoothies
Jax in Isla Mujeres.. watched the sun go down over cocktails but didn't eat here ... menu looked good though.

Loved the villas at the Hilton; excellent staff and service and the free breakfast plus evening hors d' oeuvres with bar were well worth it. Absolutely fantastic pool (heated :) )
