Isla Mujeres over Thanksgiving

We just booked a four night trip to Isla Mujeres over Thanksgiving weekend. We are staying at Privilege Aluxes on playa norte. We've never been to Isla Mujeres but it looks great. Any dining recommendations? Any activities we shouldn't miss? We will definitely be renting a golf cart to explore .Thanks!

Whoo-hoo!!! I've yet to get to "that side" of Mexico but Isla Mujeres looks fantastic. I will be looking forward to hearing about your trip. ~suze

The main reason for the trip is to visit our two friends (who live in Merida) that we haven't seen since last May. We were just going to meet in Cancun (which I don't love) but then I started looking at Isla Mujeres and it looks fantastic. And then I found a good rate at what looks like a very nice hotel that is both on the beach and within a short walk from the restaurants and shops. I'm very excited.

The golf cart is a great idea, you can easily visit the island in a day. DO visit the cemetery, it is just amazing and the beaches are fantastic. There are dozens of restaurants to choose from on the beach and in the city and also on the main drag.

Go to the Isla Mujeres forum on TripAdvisor. It is very active and you'll get a lot of information there.

IM is one of my favorite islands. We generally go for only a few days at a time to lay on the North beach where you can rent a chair and have food and drinks brought to you for a fair price. That said, not sure how thick your blood is but the end of Nov is starting to be a bit too cold for me. You may find it a bit less windy on the west side of the island.
Here's a casual restaurant that we like. Interestingly it appears that it was Fodor's top choice in 2012. Fresh, homemade foods in a nice atmosphere.

Enjoy!

cybor - it should be fine for me coming from Buffalo. It shows an average high of 83 and low of 70. That being said, I have been in Cancun in February when it was actually a little chilly for me (for swimming and sunning) so I guess we'll see what happens. The main point is to visit friends, so I'm sure we'll have fun regardless. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation. I just started doing some research on restaurants and noticed that one. It seems to get good reviews.
