Is Acapulco Safe?
My mother and I are planning a trip to Acapulco in March. I can't get a full week off of work and so I will most likely be meeting her there mid week and staying for a long weekend.
My question is if she is safe to be there by herself? We are staying in a timeshare called Royal Aloha in TorreBlanca.

There is nothing wrong with going to downtown Acapulco on the "strip"and doing some shopping or just sitting at a sidewalk cafe and people watching.
There is a very very nice Mall..over 90 lovely stores..right next to the Costa Club Hotel along the main strip.
It is air conditioned and nice to just walk about.
This is the main tourist area and it is safe...there is no gangs or trouble here.
Have a nice time

Thanks for the advice. Don't know the area at all but the website for the timeshare says the following:
A short distance away, secluded on a hilltop overlooking the bay of Puerto Marques, sits TorreBlanca, a complex of high-rise buildings providing sweeping, spectacular views from your Royal Aloha condominium. The resort is convenient to the heart of downtown Acapulco but far enough away to enjoy privacy and tranquillity"
This makes me think it might be a bit away from downtown Acapulco, in which case should we be renting a car??

Hi Lemon,
I?m wondering if you are in Acapulco now or soon this month (March)? I?m too planning visiting Acapulco in Memorial week and stay for a week. We are a group of 5 people (Mom, Dad, Hubby, 10 years old son and myself). We also will stay at Royal Aloha in Torre Blanca (we just bought a timeshare with Royal Aloha from a reseller last year). This is our first time to Acapulco.
If you don?t mind, could you give us your experiences about Acapulco and Royal Aloha? Please post your message to this group or email to me [email protected]. I?m really appreciate it
Wish you had a wonderful vacation!

BTW, if anyone has experience with this resort, please share with us
