Internet Connection (laptop) in Cancun/Mexico

I will be traveling just south of Cancun for about 2 weeks. I do need to check in with the office via my laptop at least every other day.

How expensive would it be to dial-up from my laptop in the hotel room? Would i need an Mexican ISP, and if so, can anyone suggest one?

Is it going to be necessary to go into the "hotel zone" (i'll be at least 30 minutes away) to get internet access at a "cafe", and if so, would i be able to hook my laptop into their netowrk, or would i need to use their computers?

Thanks for any help/suggestions on this topic.
