I am a single 50 year old Australian Mum travelling the world with my 7 year old son.
We have travelled 5 months so far. Next week we head to Panama. I need to book my ticket out and each time I change date costs me $250. I am changing it already for this trip.
We need a bit of a rest. I was hoping to stay in Panama a while. We love the beach and we need to settle and make a home for a short while.
Anyone got clues as to how long. 1, 2 or 3 months.
If we get bored we could always travel around and come back to fly out to South America.
I have planned at least a year in South America.
Would love any tips and thoughts before I book again as don't want to waste any more funds.
My blog is http://exploramumourworldtrip.blogspot.com
Thanks for any tips and thoughts

Why Panama? And what part of Panama? You can't mean PC because that is not the place to rest. And I live in Boquete, Panama and unless you are talking Bocas or Pedasi your son will be bored.
If you want to rest, you want the beach and you are headed to S. America anyway why not spend the month in Iquique Chile. It looks like Hawaii of the 1950's. We only spent 4 days there last year and honestly, I could have stayed. The waterfront area is geared towards families and kids. Animal petting zoos, water fountains, hang gliders who hit the beach, and more. I wouldn't hesitate twice if someone told me to go there.
In fact right now is also the beach weather time in Uruguay. Another beautiful country. I wouldn't spend a month in PC. You won't be happy and you won't stay long.
