I'll be going to a conference in Cozumel in April. Do most people just fly into Cozumel or do they first go to Cancun and take some sort of ferry over? Thanks so much for your replies.

I just returned from Cozumel on Saturday night, we flew directly to the island. I think they have expanded the airport in the past few years, it seems that all flights fly direct now. What hotel are you staying at??? Happy to answer any more questions, just post!

You can fly into Cancun, take the bus, rent a car, take a taxi to Playa del Carmen and take the ferry over, or you can fly from Cancun for about $75 to $100 round trip.
There are both direct and connecting flights from the US.
For the money, I always fly from Cancun over.
Doing the ferry thing is an all-day affair.
The ferry from PDC to Coz can be a brutal trip. My poor husband got really wretchedly sick on the trip back at nite. So did others on the boat. I have my sea legs so it did not bother me but the waters were a bit rough at nite. It is approx. a 45 min trip by ferry from PDC to Coz.
