Hotel Choices Atitlan

Jump to last reply

We arrive GUA at 9:20 and head to Lake Atitlan.

For this last minute trip to Guatemala in December, the available hotel choices are:

1)Jardines del Lago, Panajachel
2)Hotel Kakchiquel, Panajachel
3) Mikaso, San Pedro
4) Hotel Isla Verde, Santa Cruz
5) Casa Rosa, Santa Cruz
6)La Iguana Perdida, Santa Cruz , cabana room

I did read all of the Trip Advisor reviews, but wondering if you had any advice. I'm leaning towards either 1 night at Kakchiquel and 2 nights at Iguana Perdida or 3 nights at Iguana Perdida or Isla Verde. One of the Trip Advisor reviews mentioned scoripons at Isla Verde, which scared me. More about us, we are a young married couple. I'm slightly fussy, despite an understanding that standards vary country to country. I don't prefer to be too rustic-- meaning I like a clean place, with minimal bugs, and maximum private hot showers. My husband doesn't mind the rustic and prefers the least expensive accommodations!
