Honeymoon in garden cabinas at BOSQUE DEL CABO, Costa Rica??
Hello tripadvisors! I'm helping my daughter plan a beautiful honeymoon within her budget. Have you stayed in the garden cabinas in July at Bosque Del Cabo? Was it romantic? Please describe your experiences. She is looking for a wild, exotic and romantic feeling. She doesn't want a "manicured" feeling.
I have stayed in the deluxe ocean view cabinas and loved it...that was January. I've never been to Bosque del Cabo in July, and have never stayed in the garden cabinas.
Also, was it uncomfortably hot & humid at Bosque del Cabo in July...especially while staying in the garden cabinas?
Many thanks! (-; My daughter and her husband want a tropical honeymoon that fits within their budget. My daughter enjoyed staying at the Lost Iguana in Arenal years ago on a family trip.

I have only walked by the garden cabinas, but they looked not too different from the ocean bungalows. The garden area is fairly manicured, but reportedly there are titi monkeys in the area and you're steps away from the hiking trails which are most certainly wild.
What is the budget per night?
A couple of other places to consider:
1) Iguana Lodge in Puerto Jimenez, which actually has more of a honeymoon vibe in my opinion. Slightly less expensive than Bosque del Cabo, slightly better food, right on the beach.
Another place might be Ylang Ylang beach resort in Montezuma--I wish I had known about that place when planning our honeymoon. A little more finished than Iguana Lodge (rooms have A/C now, I believe), etc.

We stayed in Bungalow #1 at Luna Lodge which they call the honeymoon suite. The "porch" overlooks a jungle view that encompasses a wild river gorge and the Corcovado reserve. Monkeys and the major birds were present and performing through most hours of the day. From that porch, only nature was visible. There is a website that portrays the resort accurately. It's best, I think, to fly there in an air taxi (8 minutes from Puerto Jimenez) which is not as expensive as you might think. Romance is not where you find it; you bring it with you. At BdC, the regular cabinas would work just as well. We stayed in Mariposa on the same anniversary trip and I can't imagine that a garden cabina could be better. Rain in the Osa might be more of a problem than heat.

My husband and I stayed in the garden cabina for 4 nights a couple of years ago, though not in the summer. It was hotter than the ocean cabinas since it didn't get the ocean breeze, but somehow we adjusted. RAC is correct that the garden cabinas aren't much different than the ocean ones.We loved it, but we also love camping under the stars. We had the most amazing afternoon thunderstorm, which seemed very romantic! I guess it's all relative, and you know your daughters preferences.

I love BdC, and we've been in July, but I know for me personally I would miss the ocean views and the nice breeze that you get in the ocean cabins. Would she like someplace like Selva Verde or Tortuguero? This may be too manicured, but the Mot Mot Hideaway in Manuel Antonio is fantastic and affordable. Tons of wildlife on that property and a fantastic beach.
