Help with a 10 day trip to Argentina/Chile/Patagonia
I'm planning a trip (very late) to Argentina/Chile/Patagonia from December 21/22 to January 1st flying from New York. Only restrictions are ability to get to desired spots and having the time to enjoy them. I'd like to be outside as much as possible (glaciers, icebergs, trekking interest me), not as concerned with wine country, eating, city life etc. Please help with an itinerary! Thank you.

hi not knowing your budget, but we are staying at Los Cerros in Chalten at the north part of Glacier NP in Patagonia. We will be there for 4 days and 3 nights it is all inclusive w/ a menu of hikes, explorations on foot boat and horseback of the area

Roadster, we are in the same boat, going to the Patagonia January 2-18, not so easy to plan a route. We finally decided to keep it simple focusing on Bariloche, El Calafate and Torres Del paine regions.

MRoadster, check out the Explora web site. They have all-inclusive tracks in TDP, as well as in the high desert in northern Chile.
In April my wife and I will be staying 4 nights in each. Last year we spend 3 nights at the Explora in Rapa Nui, which was great.
(no, I'm not affiliated)

Hola MRoadster187:
My wife and I spent 9 weeks traveling from Punta Arenas, the southern tip of Chile up to Santiago and then on to Buenos Aires with many stops along the way.
We had all of our South American trip portion arranged by Mercedes of Argentina Escapes. We had our air to and from arranged at home.
[email protected]
and
www.argentinaescapes.com
and she was excellent.
On our 9 week trip, I never expected everything to be perfect and of course it wasn't. We had bad service from the local agent in Mendoza, Baco Tours, but other than that it was great. We will be using Mercedes again year after next when we return to Argentina once more.
I suggest that you contact Mercedes tell her what you like and what you do not like and see what she can suggest for you.
If you wish, you can tell her that you got her name from George Woodie.
I am sure that you will have a great time. We certainly did.
Good Luck.
