help with 12 day family trip to Costa Rica in June
We need help. My husband and I and 4 kids (ages 10-13) are planning a trip to the Costa Rican Central Pacific Coast Area. We have never been before. A good friend suggested -Manuel Antonio National Park, Rafiki Safari Lodge, and Dominical as a basic itinerary. We are interested in learning the best activities and places to stay for our family.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

With that much time you might want to take a few days for Arenal Observatory Lodge great free trails and guided morning wildlife walk.
Hacienda Baru was one of my favorite spots to visit. I don't think the units have A/C if you require that.
Manuel Antonio Park was perhaps my least favorite. Hordes of tourists and aggressive monkeys that you can also see on the public Playa Espadilla. The beaches are lovely but you must have someone watch your bags while you swim. I did like staying at Arenas del Mar, not sure if their units are large enough for a family of 6 people, so a condo is probably a better choice.

I've stayed at Arenas del Mar as well. It's a beautiful hotel and location, great staff and right on the beach. I believe it's the only hotel in the Manuel Antonio area that is on the beach. They have connecting rooms for larger families so that sounds like it would be ideal for your situation!

Manual Antonio is great for beach (parasailing - great views!, jet skiing, banana boat, sea kayaking), Mangrove Tour, Park Tour. We used Iguana Tours in Manuel Antonio. Great guides - especially Mauricio on the Park tour.
With 12 days, you might consider 2 or even 3 destinations to really get to see this beautiful country! Each area is so unique! We loved Arenal! There are so many fun things to do besides the volcano - white water rafting, canyoning, La Fortuna Waterfalls, hanging bridges, zip line, Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, hiking around the volcano, hot springs, etc...the list goes on and on.
Have fun!
