We're staying in Tortuguero and Arenal for part of our trip. What is an absolute "must see and do"? We also have a 14 day pass on Nature Air. What's fun for a ten yr. old?

Fly into Nosara, and National will meet your flight with a rental car!
Tortuguero and Arenal are both great parts of the country for a 10 yr old, lots of animals to see in Tortuguero.
I recommend coming to Manuel Antonio! It has a nice mix of beach and jungle, tons of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, birds etc. Great ziplining, white water rafting (there is a class II and III rapid river that is mellow enough for kids) check out Amigos del Rio for rafting here! For accommodations I recommend checking out Tulemar Vacation Homes in Manuel Antonio. They have small bungalows and villas as well as large private villas. Four pools, and a private beach that your ten year old would love - they provide you with the lounge chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sea kayaks and sand toys. Plus the beach is great for seeing wildlife.
You could fly from Arenal to Quepos (which is the port town 5-10 minutes outside of Manuel Antonio.
Have you thought about going to the Sarapiqui region on your way to or from Tortuguero/Arenal - very convenient stopover. We love Selva Verde, but are giving La Tirimbina a try for the next trip. There are lots of tours/activities at both. We have always seen plenty of wildlife in the area.
