Has anyone used Luxury Link?

Hey, guys! I was reading about Luxury Link, and it sounds like you can get some good deals. Has anyone ever had the chance to use it? I would love your feedback if you have or if you know much about it. Thanks!

I've used Luxury Link many times. I usually contact the property directly to make sure they have availability for my dates before bidding. IME you can get most packages for the opening bid prices. I've rarely had anyone bid against me.

Wanted to add that all the packages I've purchased were auctions. They Buy Now packages aren't as good deals and of course you should always do your homework and compare what you'd pay via other channels.

Thanks, Patty - I meant to post this in the lounge, but I'm thrilled that someone on here saw it. Good to hear about your positive experience and great advice to check regarding the dates.

I haven't used them but have watched prices quite a bit and agree with Patty the opening bid doesn't usually move much.

Thanks, hip! Hey, I got my TA jacket - wow, it was nice! Luckily we're having a cold snap so I've gotten to wear it!

I have used it several times and agree with what others have said. You can get some great deals on the auctions, but make sure that you do your research to make sure that it is, in fact, a deal. I also agree about contacting the hotel before bidding to check for availability. I just "won" an auction that would have cost me about $2200 booking through the hotel. The auction price was $905 and then I found a $100 coupon code, bringing the final cost down to $840 including the $40 processing fee.

The other way that I think you really save is that the price usually includes taxes and service fees, which can really add up.

When I call to check on the availability, do I mention that I want to use Luxury Link?

I will just ditto Patty. Her advice is sound. My experiences have all been quite good. One of my favorite trips was a week in San Miguel de Allende which included not only meals but four hours of Spanish lessons a day. It was a private tutor for just my brother and me. Great.

Thanks, guys. If I bid on a package that includes credits for a dinner or tour package, do I receive something from luxury link stating that or does the resort already know? I was curious if I would receive some kind of redeemable certificates that I need to show or if it would just all be in the hotel system already.

I've never gotten any kind of redeemable certs from LL, just a confirmation email stating the inclusions and normally the hotel has all of the details as well.

vgirl -- Yeah, cool jackets, eh? I feel greed because I ended up with two. I e-mailed about a week before I received the 1st one asking if I could change the size. I ended up getting a small and a medium (remember the sizing seemed like football player sizes)? Anyway, good to keep snug.

volcanogirl,

When LL made my reservation, they advised that I bring a printout of the confirmation email stating what the package includes.

Do you mind sharing where you are going (so I may have a bit of vacation envy)?

hip, lucky you - maybe one for your daughter?

k, I'm looking at them for Belize. The costs of the tours and everything can really add up, so I thought I'd look at getting a deal. The prices seem really good!
