Guatemala is smoke-free

I had not realized this, but a tough non-smoking law took effect in Guatemala in February. Smoking is not permitted in any enclosed public space, including bars, restaurants, hotel rooms and the common areas of hotels. If a bar or restaurant has an outdoor patio, smoking is permitted there.

I thought it was funny going into three restaurants, asking to be seated in the non-smoking section and being told each time, "We're all non-smoking." The third time, I asked and got the news.
