Guanacaste mid Sept - wet season?

I went to Costa Rica last year and absolutely loved it. My husband and I will be taking a last minute vacation somewhere and I found a great deal in Guanacaste September 14th - 18th. I'm pretty sure it is the wet season or I think they call it green season. Would it just rain about an hour a day like other tropical areas or does it rain the majority of the day? I'm trying to find a good website that has detailed info about the weather and am having no such luck!

Thanks!!

Chances are, it will not rain all day. Typically, it will be sunny in the morning, start getting cloudy and then rain in the afternoon - usually just a shower that is really welcome since it cools everything off nicely. Most people use this time to sort through their photos or read or have a cup of Costa Rican coffee or just lie in the hammock and watch the rain. Now that I have said that, I look out the window and it is pouring rain! haha I don't, however, live at the beach but in the mountains so it could be totally different there. Some days you will get the afternoon shower; some days you will get the morning shower and some days it will be drizzly off and on all day. But ... it is just water, so no big deal, really.

For a good weather site, you can check here: www.govisitcostarica.com - go to the weather section.

I live in Guanacaste, in Nosara. I have spent many mid Septembers in Costa Rica, as I was married 11 years ago on Sept. 19th, so have come here for my anniversary many times, before I moved here. The rain was never a problem. Usually nice in the mornings, rain in the afternoons. I have never, ever seen a 'green' season like I have this year. It started early in May. We had 37 inches of rain here, compared to last year when we had 14 inches in May. I have not kept track of how much we have had in June, July and Aug., but it has been a LOT. I don't want to discourage you, but you need to keep an open mind if you do decide to come in Sept. this year. You will likely have some sun everyday, but this year is very wet!
