Gran Caribe Real in Cancun??

My family and I are thinking about staying at the Gran Caribe in April. Has anyone stayed there? Which rooms have nice Carribean (not lagoon) views? Does the all-inclusive plan include any tours to Tulum, Xel-ha or other places. THANKS so much for any information!!! Mike and Jill Ward

My sister and her husband stayed there when they went to Cancun last summer (it was hot!) and loved it. She said it was very elegant. I don't know specifics about the rooms though. Have Fun!

Stayed at the Gran Caribe Sept. of this year. Very nice hotel, All rooms have balcony or terrace on Carribean side. Huge pool area w/ swim-up bar. We were on an AI 4 night stay, and our price did not include any tours. It will be hot and humid (always), and will affect people differently depending on where you are traveling from (we are from Texas).

We are looking at this hotel too. If anyone has any information on snorkeling from the beach there, please let us know. That's what we mostly want to do. Is the water clear? Are there any reefs there? Thanks!

Hola Mike. If you are interested in tours I can suggest contacting the person I used on my last trip there in late September. She arranged tours to Chichen Itza and Isla Mujeres for me and also I did the "jungle tour" which was basically riding jet skis around a lagoon and through a mangrove swamp and then snorkeling. It was fun! Her name is Paola Vigueras and she is a super nice sweet person. Her e-mail address is: [email protected].

Have fun.

DeLeta

Hotel is newer and all-inclusive a good value. Stay far away from Mgrs Special tour - its high pressure timeshare sales. Food is average hotel quality. Nice pool, young adult to middle age visitors. Beachfront is small and has sandbars, a little murky. Better Snorkeling in area. Cancun vry hot and humid - we skipped golf because too uncomfortable weather. Very commercialized, modern malls, hustle/bustle. Visit Playa del Carmen for real mexico flavor in low key quiet beach setting. We visited early Oct.
