Anyone who can suggest a great tour/ lodge package in Torteguero?
We're going there in a couple of days, but can't descide who to go with since they seem to be offering kind of the same thing for the same price, but online the rewievs are quite shifting...
Help anyone?

We love going to Tortuguero any time of year and have used Riverboat Francesca run by Modesto and Fran Watson each time. www.tortuguerocanals.com They will pick up from certain San Jose hotels and transport you to the dock at Moin or you can meet them at the dock. They generally stay at Laguna Lodge, but can arrange other lodges, if you prefer.
They are both excellent wildlife guides - we have always done the 3 day/2 night package since it is time consuming to get there and back.
We have seen toucans, three species of monkeys, caimans, sloths, iguanas and numerous species of birds when touring with them. Have fun!
We stayed at the Tortuga Lodge; they're known for great food and great service. We picked them because they let us tour on our own and eat on our own rather than being put into groups, eating buffet, etc. They're a little pricier though. Their guides are excellent.
