Going to Los Cobos in October for our Honeymoon
We are planning a two week honeymoon to Los Cobos in October. The second week our option is to stay in one of the condo's at Casa del Mar or Stay at Casa Natallia. Any information on either of these places would be greatly appreciated.

Well you did ask for some suggestions.<BR>I wouldn't worry about accomadations as the resort has record lows in room occupancy rates. It was down 80 percent after Sept 11 and never full recovered. <BR>Things to be concerned about well no doubt about timeshare will be everywhere and my guess exceptionally hungry as so few tourists along with every other hawker and vendor.<BR><BR>Then there is the matter with the police pulling numbers on the tourist and extracting the {mordida}bite in english. Money darling Money they force the tourist to withdraw it from the ATM. Extortion. On going over the years problem down there.<BR><BR>Next the prostition is now on the main streets along with nasty pimps and drug pushers. Yes watch your wallet at all times. And flim flam and scams Cabo is well reknown for.<BR><BR>All in all if you are lucky you will not encounter a Hurricane like the one they had last October. Nearly destroyed the place. They have had their share of them. <BR>Just a reminder count your change and don't expect bargains for in Cabo when tourism in down prices skyrocket.<BR><BR>you get to pay for everyone who is not there.

I don't really know what that last reply was about. Obviously that person is not a big fan of Cabo. If anyone can give us some helpful information regarding our trip (good or bad) but something I can at least understand, I would appreciate it. We still have not booked our trip and plan on doing it in the next few days. Thank you!

Personally I would book Zihuatanejo or Playa de Carmen over Cabo. Better choice in my opinion for a honeymoon.<BR><BR>The Ocean on The Carib is wonderful, clear and warm and you can swim in it.<BR>Cabo has very dangerous undertows.<BR>Zihuat has a very Mexican feel some wonderful mid priced hotels and better value than Cabo.<BR><BR>Cabo is like a Border town with all the grifters and many other problems. Choose a resort with community feeling.<BR>Cabo is all about what "I can get out of you right now" and the testimonial is low tourism.

Do a seach on Cabo on this forum. Yes there are some that love it, but most do not,<BR>due to timeshare hawkers EVERYWHERE, dirty, can't swim in ocean (cold rough seas) too expensive..the list goes on. I agree with poster that says Playa Del Carmen or even<BR>Zihuatanejo are better.

went there last year, in July. Loved the resort, the Fiesta Americana, though it was pricey, it was first class. Water was cold (I'm from Florida, so I used a wet suit to snorkel and dive, and it was OK), but the marina and boat rides were fun. Shopping and meals were average touristy, the town has a market atmosphere, and is safe on the main streets. I'd be wary of getting to far off the beaten path, but that's true everywhere you aren't familiar with. Policia protect the touristas everywhere, we're the big ticket for the locals. Fishing and golf were OK, go with the little better, it only cost a little more to go first class! <BR><BR>Do the ATV in the desert/ beach, that was a blast!! Casa Mia is a must, by far the best restaurant in town... enjoy!!
