Fishing around Arenal

We will be in the Arenal area for three nights. We will have a 12-year-old and a 76-year-old with us who love to fish. Any suggestions for guides/tours?

I believe you can go fishing on Lake Arenal. You might check with Desafio for more info.

I keep reading that you can fish, but I'm not finding out how to do that!

Is Desafio a person or a company?

And this fishing thing could be really low-key and simple. Just some grandpa with some poles would be ok with them!

Desafio is a company that does tours and excursions. Sunset Tours is another if you want to check with them. You might check with your hotel as well.

A lot of the tour companies had large boats that could hold dozens of people. Anywhere Costa Rica has that, but they also have small motor boats that carry 2-3 people plus a guide. That is what we were looking for.

We decided to stay at Kokoro Arenal. They have a family cabin that was really affordable.

That's great, glad you found what you're looking for. I've seen kayaks for rent around the lake as well.
