Family with 3 year old and 7 month old what to do

Hi,

I'm going to Costa Rica for my second time in mid March and trying to figure out what to do. Last time when I went I was in my mid 20's and with a girlfriend. I now have a beautiful wife and two lovely girls ( 3 year old and 7 month old). I went to Arenal, and then straight to the pacific coast down to Manuel Antonio last time.

Do you have any recommendations? East vs West side?

Something the whole family can enjoy, a beach for 3-4 days.

Oh yea we will have 18 days to enjoy "Pura Vida" so any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

we went to Tulemar with our 3 year old last year in Manuel Antonio. Stayed at villa mot mot. it was very kid friendly and a nice calm beach with sand toys and a restaurant right there- lots of pools to choose from too. Great wildlife- monkey and toucans sightings regularly from our deck.
If you want to go someplace different, Villas Kalimba in Playa Samara is also very kid friendly and the owners are the nicest people ever. the beach there is also calm.
We're going to the Caribbean side this time. I think it'll be a more difficult trip with a young child, as everything is more remote. I think if I had a baby with me, I'd personally be more comfortable on the Pacific side.

mad, thank you for suggesting Playa Samara! I hadn't heard of it before, and after your recommendation I starting looking into it. I immediately fell in love, as we are also planning a trip with two little ones (6 & 3), this looks like the ideal place for our family. I regret Manuel Antonio is now off our itinerary, and Playa Samara is filling in.

Oh great- we spent a month there just as Villas Kalimba was being built- we were their first guests. I hope you'll consider staying with them. It was a special experience for us and the villas were the nicest place in town and very reasonably priced. If you decide to go, please tell them Madeleine and Arpad say hi! We hope to get back there soon too.
