I leave on Christmas Day for 10 days in Costa Rica. And it is my first visit - really looking forward to it !!
We will be in Arenal on New Year's Eve - is there anything a family of 4 can do in Arenal for New Year's Eve ? (2 adults + 2 kids ages 12 & 9). (Other than watch the lava of course). Any suggestions for family-friendly New Year's Eve celebrations there ? We will be staying in Los Lagos. We have to get up early on Jan 1 (booked for Cano Negor tour), so maybe we will just do an early night, but wondering if there are other family-friendly (read non-alcholocic) options. Anything like "First Night" ??

You should check with your hotel. Many of the hotels have celebrations and special dinners happening. Evenine Eco Thermales with dinner would be a nice night. I can't think of anywhere that would be completely non-alcoholic though.
