Eating / dining suggestions for Cancun and Playa

Hi there,
I am hoping you can recommend some restaurants / esating places for the above places.
I will be able to take my husband to a couple of local places but I am sure he will then want to back to western food.
( We are from Australia and he does not like a lot of spicy food )
Good chains are ok.
Thanks in advance
Donna

Here are four places we recommend:

Casa Rolandi (Italian):

La Joya (Mexican-very expensive):

Cancun has some wonderful restaurants. Forget the chains!!!

Laguna Grill is right in the hotel zone and has wonderful ambiance and great food.

Las Habichuelas is downtown, and is a long time city favorite. Built around a garden it is romantic, unique, has lovely service and food. A not to miss place.

Puerto Madera is a steakhouse in the hotel zone that gets excellent reviews.

La Madonna in Isla Mall is another uniquely beautiful restaurant that serves Italian. Pricey, but even if you don't eat there, it's worth visiting for a martini for the over the top decor inside.

Enjoy!!!

My fav place is the Argentinean steak house cambalache. It's amazing! Perhaps a bit more expensive than many restaurants, but it's totally worth it. I found a ton of restaurants here: http://www.ucancun.com/cancun-restaurants-menu you may find a bit more details about different types of food if steak isn't your thing.
