Driver to & from SJO airport to Peace Lodge

My husband and I are headed to Peace Lodge for a long weekend (3nts) and although we rented a car on our longer trip to CR, this time it makes more sense to hire a driver. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to pay for that drive roundtrip? And will most drivers also point out interesting sights on the way (like a guide)? Any suggestions?

I can recommend www.tucanlimoservices.com They have been in business a long time and are very professional. Good English speakers, they will most definitely give you a lot of information and make some stops for photos if you like. As for pricing, you can email them (or any of the others) and get a current price.

Vantrans and Interbus also provide private shuttles. You can expect to pay approx $70 each way. You might find someone cheaper but this is not out of line.

We just had the Peace Lodge pick us up. I think we paid about $55, but that was a couple of years ago. I find it really easy to book drivers through the hotels when you reserve them.

Thanks for your replies. I checked with Peace Lodge and I can book through them for $70 each way. I assume that's a private driver as opposed to a shuttle bus. If so,that sounds like its in line.

Yep, that would be a private driver. They'll be waiting for you at the airport, usually carrying a sign with your name on it.
