Day trip to Nicaragua

Has anyone done a day trip to Nicaragua from Four Seasons Guanacaste? Is this too ambitious with a ten year old? Was it worth it? Thanks.

Where in Nicaragua!!!. There is nothing to see in Managua, there is not even a downtown. Managua was destroyed by big earthquake in 1972, and new city grew and still growing on the outskirts of old, so nothing to see.
Drive from the border with Costa Rica is about 3 to 4 hours plus inmigration time...so IT IS A NO, NO.....
San Juan del Sur is very nice and much closer to border...how about a 2-3 days trip...
