Day driver or Car rental Puntarenas April 30
I have been to CR before, spent 2 weeks. I will be arriving by Cruise ship so I only have a day to explore. I would like to either rent a car or hire a driver for the day. We arrive April 30th this year. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear from you. I would love to go to MA but I think it maybe a bit far for a day trip? We arrive around 7am so I am guessing debarking around 8:30 and we leave port at 7 pm so I would like to be back by 6 pm. There will be just 2 of us.

Which port are you arriving?
Assuming you are arriving at Puntarenas, it could take you around one hour and 30 minutes to get to MA, it´s not that far. You can stay in the park a couple hours, have lunch and be back before 6 pm. If you are going to the park, it usually closes at 3:30, so you will have enough time to be back.
It´s around 6 hours, I´ve done the trip in one day from San Jose, and it´s fine, however I only stayed in the park, did the trails and take sometime to relax at the beautiful beach.
I would recommend you to rent a car, from Puntarenas to MA, there are signs everywhere and the roads are fine, and it would be cheaper than a driver.
Hope this helps!

Hello, sometimes it is better if you book a One Day Tour, so you won't be worried about thinks like transportation, entrance fees and meals. Most of the travel agencies will pick you up and drop you off directly in front of the ship, so you won't have to walk and look for the guide.
Those are my recommendations for Tours from Puntarenas:
Manuel Antonio National Park
Carara National Park
Hanging Bridges
Palo Verde National Park
Tropical Mangrove Tour
Let me know if you need more information or suggestions!
