I'm seeing there's overwhelmingly good testimonials for the majority of "local" wholesalers who can put a great package together for you.
So I'd like to give a big general recommendation for the whole "local" industry!

I'm optimistic and convinced from a lot of reading (plus personal experience with a couple companies), that the majority are sincere about what they're doing. Yes, some will get more of your money than others, and there's some research to be done.

Most are happy to show you sample itineraries, and most will tailor an itin. to your activity, accomodation and transportation wishes.

Most are also happy to work with you on only things you need them for, if some things are already arranged.

MOST important of all for me:
Local phone numbers and easy contact for possible problem-solving, if anything goes wrong or needs attention. Some real peace of mind on a vacation, knowing a rep is close, and invites you to call their cell at any time for any reason, throughout your vacation. Last thing you want is some long distance travel agent helpless to do anything about quick solutions.

The other big plus is that everything is arranged and confirmed for you, particularly since email communication is often so slow. Phone and fax too. Language limitations too.

And it's certainly nice to give one credit card number to one person.

You'll have a great time! Just figure out your priorities for activities and CR regions, and go from there.....
