I am going to Cozumel the first week in June for scuba divind. I plan on diving some with Scuba Club Cozumel, been there, but will not stay because of all-inclusive nature. Do you have suggestions about other good dive operations, costs? I may stay at the Tamarind B & B--know anything about it?
Thanks
Jane

Hi Jane, check out (www.aldora.com). They have a lot of info on their site regarding hotels and eats. They are also IMHO the top operator in Coz. They charge a little more per dive but the long bottom time(120 cu. ft. tanks) are well worth it. Boats carry 6 + DM. We are heading back on 5/26.
Good luck & safe diving

Jane,
If you are an intermediate or advanced diver and there will be more than one person diving, there is a dive operation in Cozumel that does special dives. It's called Caribbean Charters. They go to places that most dive shops don't visit. They are really a private charter service and you can reach them at:
caribbeancharters@yahoo.com. They cost about the same as other dive operations ($45-55) per 2-tank dive but for the personal service they provide, it's the best deal we have found. We were the only ones on the reef most of the time and saw some incredible sights like spotted eagle rays, 4 turtles one day, and huge nurse sharks. It's a very safe operation with their own fully equipped boats and really nice captains and divemasters. We have recommended them to lots of other divers who report that they also were very happy with the service. Check them out!
