Cozumel - Best Snorkeling Sites
Help-
Going to be in Cozumel for only 1 day on cruise ship soon, and have been to Chankanaab, which was wonderful. But would like to try another spot for great snorkeling---have noticed hotels mentioned, but aren't they private?

There are several snorkeling spots between Chankanaab and the town of San Miguel. Recommended to us (besides Chankanaab) were Dzul Ha and at the Fiesta Americana Hotel. Of the three, we only snorkeled Chankanaab. We stayed/also snorkeled at the Hotel Cozumeleno, located north of San Miguel; where the currents are stronger than they are south of town.

You will find that many hotels are gated now and "just walking in" isn't possible. However, in Cozumel its not neccessary. Dzul Ha is one of the best spots and its a great day beach open to anyone. If the current is running the right way, you can drift snorkel between Dzul Ha and Fiesta Americana - its a nice stretch.
