Costa Rica with 2 year old and 9 month old

Travelling as a family. Considering Costa Rica. Is it safe? What are good locations with small children?

Manuel Antonio is nice; we love Tulemar Bungalows - lots of wildlife, and they have their own beach. Plenty of restaurants that you can walk to. Nice national park.

We traveled with a 2 year old! She loved it. We did one night at the Toucan Rescue Ranch where she got up close visits with sloths and dozens of other animals. We went to Manuel Antonio. The beach was great. We took her horseback riding with Brisas de Nara. Last we went to Monteverde which was nice because the weather was cooler. We found CR to be very child friendly.

Take a look at the Peace Lodge too; kids love it. They have an aviary you can walk through, butterfly house, waterfalls, frog house, and at certain times of day you can hand feed hummingbirds.

We did a day pass at the Peace Lodge, and yes-- the kids loved it. There were coatis wandering around the gift shop, zoos, giant butterflies, and hummingbirds that landed on our hands.

The Peace Lodge can be pricey, so you can just buy a ticket to the La Paz Waterfall Gardens if you don't want to stay there.
