Costa Rica limited mobility issues...
Hi,
My wife would love to visit Costa Rica primarily for the rain Forest and birds and wildlife. Does anyone have personal experience using a tour that more or less caters to handicapped persons? She has trouble walking any distance, can not walk on rough terrain, and has some balance issues. I, her husband, of course would accompany her. Thank you for any ideas.

I can recommend the Cano Negro tour if you're going to be in the Arenal area; it's a boat ride where you can observe monkeys, caimans, water birds, etc. It's a nice big stable covered boat. Desafio is a good company to go with. You can also visit the Proyecto Asis animal rescue center; we got to help feed monkeys, a sloth, and toucans there. You can get very close to the animals, so it's a neat experience. The Penas Blancas river float is also fun. You might have to walk down a river slope to board the raft there though.
