Two 50ish women coming to Costa Rica coast for over 2 weeks. After many months of planning I know where I want to go and what I want to do. I found a travel company called Latindestinations. I looked at reviews and found some negitive reviews but most were positive. After pricing what it would cost on our own it is much cheaper to go with this companyy. Any one have an opinion? The itinerary is:
Sept 28th- Pittsburgh to San Jose
Stay at the Country Inn and Suites
Sept 29th Private english speaking driver to Puerto Viejo
Stay at either the Totem Resort, Cariblu, or Azania Bungalows( Feedback on any of these?)
Oct 11- Private driver+boat to Toruguero
Mawamba Lodge( a friend knows owners)
Oct 14- Boat-shuttle to San Jose
Staying at Grano de Oro( because of location)
Oct 17- Flying back to Pittsburgh
Any Opinions? I do not intend to use this company for anything other than what I have stated. It seems that the negitive reviews leaned towards doing tours with them. I figure once we get there we can figure out what we want to do. Might even take a trip to Bocas del Toro. We really would like to spend some time on the Pacific side since we have so much time( spend less time in Puerto Viejo) but worried about the weather. Would the northern part of the Pacific be drier at this time? Thanks for any replies.

This to seems to be much the same request that you've already posted here.
While September and October are the rainiest months in the rest of the country, oddly, they are the least rainy months on the Caribbean side.
It sounds as though you've done quite a bit of research and are prepared with an itinerary. Do some reading on here about some of your locations. I think there are some places you are not seeing, although you have plenty of time.
I, too, would spend less time in Puerto Viejo.
We highly recommend Bocas del Toro, but only if you are prepared for a laid-back surfer atmosphere with great little inns and eateries. Getting to BDT will be a bit of a challenge. There's a bus that goes there from either Puerto Viejo or San Jose. If you can, hire a driver to take you there. You can also fly in and out of BDT.
Also, are you spending any time in Arenal, Monteverde or Manuel Antonio?

The reason I posted again was I could not find the original post. My itinerary is not set yet. Not really into touristy areas. Plus from everything I read the rest of Costa Rica is extremely rainy that time of year except maybe the Guanacaste
area. I would not mind going to Arenal or Monteverde weather permitting. Anything about Latindestinations?
