My husband and I are looking for a place to go for the month of Feb. next year and have found in the past that booking for the places we really want go quickly. We are finishing up a fantastic month in Kauai at the moment-though it is raining heavily today-and thinking ahead to next year.
Costa Rica is currently on the top of our wish list as it has the climate, friendly people, and outdoor activities we like-and it is closer to NY than Hawaii. We'd like to rent a 2-bedroom condo or villa on a beach with a great waterview. I've been looking at the Tamarindo area and would appreciate any suggestions about where to stay there and/or we are open to any and all ideas about Costa Rica. We visited there several years ago with a tour and loved the Corcavado area but think that may not have enough choices for a month. We did not get to the Guanacaste area on that trip.
Thanks for any help. Sue

We stayed in Playa Samara for a month several years ago and loved it. It's more low key than Tamarindo, but plenty of restaurants/bars and a nice beach. we stayed at Villas Kalimba, which has two bedroom villas across the street from the beach.
Tamarindo is a good place to stay for a month because it has some of the conviences you want when staying for more than a week or two such as a nice American style supermarket, automercado. There is a good selection of restuarants and plenty acitivities to do in and around the city. The weather is fantastic during February and the humidity is actual quite low for the tropics. There is a large selection of condos and houses to rent in the area. RPM Services is one of the largest vacation management companies in the area with a great selection condos and houses to choose from. Check them out at www.rpmvacationrentals.com.
reservaconchal.com niceat area beach around Guanacaste
Tamarindo.com more action but quite dodgy no hawaii. Closer
to the airport north of Jaco also like hotelvillacaletas.com
safe area nice beach lots to do. CR browner sand might also consider Belizefirst.com Victoria-house.com or similar
whiter beaches.
Good luck!
Thanks, I will look into your suggestions. Qwovadis-why do you say Tamarindo is "quite dodgy"? Is it unsafe in your opinion?
